Questions, answered
56 straight answers about building with Swarmz, pricing, publishing and keeping your data safe.
Getting started
What Swarmz is, what it builds and how to begin.
Swarmz is an AI app builder. Describe the app you want in plain English and Swarmz designs it, builds it, tests it and puts it live on the web — with a database, sign-in and hosting already wired in.
No. You describe what you want and Swarmz writes the code. If you do code, it's all real React, TypeScript and Tailwind — open it in the code view at any time, or sync it to your own GitHub.
Yes. The Free plan gives you 5 credits every day (up to 30 a month), unlimited projects and publishing to a swarmz.cloud address. No credit card needed. Compare plans.
Sign up, type what you want to build into the prompt box and press send. If your idea is still loose, Swarmz shows you three design directions to choose from before it builds. Or start from one of 28 working templates.
Websites and web apps: online stores, landing pages, portfolios, restaurant and booking sites, client portals, SaaS dashboards, internal tools and marketplaces. Everything is responsive, so it works on desktop, tablet and phone.
Not today. Swarmz builds web apps — and tests every one at phone size, so they look and work great on a phone. It doesn't package native iOS or Android apps for the app stores, browser extensions or chat bots.
Most prompts finish in a minute or two. A brand-new app with its own images takes a little longer. You can keep typing while it works — your next idea waits in the queue.
Building with Swarmz
How the AI works, editing, images and your code.
Kernel 1 is the engine behind every Swarmz build. It plans the work, writes the code, opens your app in a real browser to click through it, and checks its own work before it tells you it's done. Meet Kernel 1.
Every build runs on Kernel 1, powered by frontier models from OpenAI. Some design and planning steps use models from Anthropic. There's nothing to set up — Swarmz picks the right model for each step.
Yes. It opens your live preview in a real browser and clicks, types and fills in forms on desktop, tablet and phone. Before it says done, it checks code style, types, your preview and runtime errors. If something fails it tries to fix it (up to 2 times), then tells you honestly how it went. How testing works.
Three ways. Ask in the chat. Click any element and change its text, colours, spacing or layout with Visual edit — the change is written straight into your code. Or draw on your app: circle something to select it, cross it out to delete it. Visual editing.
Turn on Plan and Swarmz asks its questions up front, then writes a plan you can edit. Approve it and Swarmz builds exactly that. It's ideal for bigger features.
Yes. Every change is a restore point. Open version history to preview any earlier version live, see what changed in the code, and restore it in one click.
Yes. It generates original product shots, illustrations and logos — including clean cut-outs with transparent backgrounds — and saves them straight into your project. It can also place licensed stock photos and video. Image generation uses credits. Image generation.
Yes. Attach up to 10 files per message — screenshots, PDFs, spreadsheets, documents — or paste an image and say "make it like this". You can also import your brand from your website so every page follows it.
Yes. Important project decisions and finished work are saved to your project's memory automatically, so you don't have to repeat yourself in long projects.
Skills are playbooks that teach Swarmz how to do something well. 12 come built in — including design, responsive layout, accessibility, SEO and web performance — and Swarmz loads the right ones on its own. You can write your own and call them with /.
Yes, through GitHub. Connect GitHub and Swarmz creates a private repository, pushes your code and keeps it in sync both ways. There's no zip download today — GitHub is how your code leaves Swarmz.
Not yet. Projects start from a prompt or a template. If you already have a website, point Swarmz at it and it can reuse your real photos and bring your brand across.
Plans & credits
Prices, credits, billing and refunds.
Free is $0 with 5 credits every day. Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits, and Business starts at $50 a month for 100 credits. Each paid plan has 12 tiers, from 100 to 15,000 credits a month. Enterprise is priced for your organisation. See pricing.
A credit is a unit of AI work. Most edits cost less than half a credit, and building a new app usually takes about one credit. Small tweaks can cost as little as 0.1 credits. You can see what every prompt cost right in the chat.
Yes. Every plan gets 5 free credits a day — up to 30 a month on Free and 150 a month on paid plans. They're used before your monthly credits and reset at midnight UTC.
On Pro and Business, yes. Unused monthly credits roll over for 30 days, up to one month's allowance. Daily credits don't roll over.
The AI pauses until you have credits again. On Pro and Business you can buy a top-up (from 100 credits for $25, valid for 12 months) or turn on auto top-up; on Free, new daily credits arrive tomorrow. Your published site stays online, but a Swarmz Cloud backend pauses until credits are back.
A credit does the same work on both. Pro adds monthly credits, rollover, top-ups, your own domain, no Swarmz badge and editing code by hand. Business costs twice Pro at each tier and adds team controls: private publishing, SAML single sign-on, user groups, custom design systems and a branded workspace URL.
No. Plans are per workspace, not per person. Invite your team and everyone shares the workspace's credits. Every plan, including Free, has unlimited projects.
Plans are billed monthly in US dollars through Stripe — pay by card, Link or Apple Pay. Tax or VAT is added at checkout. Cancel any time and keep your plan until the end of the billing period.
Any time. Upgrade and you pay the difference today and get the extra credits straight away. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal, with nothing to pay today.
The Free plan is the trial, and it never runs out: 5 credits every day to build and publish real apps. Upgrade when you need more.
Payments are generally final, with important exceptions. In the UK, EU and EEA you can cancel a new subscription within 14 days, and untouched top-ups can be refunded within 14 days. Billing mistakes, like double charges, are always refunded. Read the refund policy.

Swarmz Cloud & publishing
Your app's backend, going live and your own domain.
It's the backend for your apps: a database, user accounts and sign-in, file storage and server functions. Each app that uses it gets its own dedicated backend, set up and wired in by Swarmz. About Swarmz Cloud.
Every plan, including Free, comes with a monthly Cloud allowance. Beyond that, usage is paid in the same credits you build with, as it happens. Idle backends go to sleep, so a quiet app costs very little.
You choose. When you turn on Cloud, pick a home for your app's data from 16 regions across the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific — the nearest one is preselected. You can also connect your own Supabase project instead.
Click Publish. Your app goes live at your-name.swarmz.cloud, served from a global edge network with HTTPS switched on automatically. Set the page title, description, favicon and share image in the same step.
Yes, on Pro and above. Connect a domain like yourbrand.com or a subdomain like shop.yourbrand.com, and SSL is set up for you. Bring a domain you own from any registrar. Hosting & domains.
Yes, on Pro and above — switch it off and the change applies without republishing.
On Business and Enterprise, yes. Publish to your workspace only, or to selected people you invite by email — including people outside your team.
Yes. Turn on sign-in from the Cloud tab: Email, Phone, Google, Apple, GitHub, Microsoft, Discord, X or SAML SSO. Google and Apple sign-in work with no developer setup. Authentication.
Yes. Swarmz Payments runs on Stripe: checkout, subscriptions and invoices in your app, with payouts to your own bank account. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch your app. Swarmz Payments.
Yes. Published apps get built-in analytics and session replays — visitors, pages, sources, errors and web vitals — with no tracking script to paste. Analytics.
Security & your data
Privacy, where data lives and how we protect it.
Your project and its code are visible only to your workspace. Work-in-progress previews always need a sign-in and a seat in your workspace. What you publish is public by default — or private on Business.
Your account and our database are in the EU (Ireland), and your projects are built and previewed on servers in Germany. Published apps are served from Cloudflare's global network. Some services, such as the AI models, run in the US. Privacy policy.
Your prompts and chat history are stored with your project so you can come back to them. To build, they're sent to our AI providers, OpenAI and Anthropic, who say they don't train their models on data sent through their APIs by default. Credentials are scrubbed from our AI logs, and support access by our team is logged.
Paste something that looks like a key into the chat and Swarmz warns you before it's sent, offering a secure form instead. Connector credentials are encrypted before they're stored, and your app's secrets are kept out of its code.
Yes. Every change is a restore point in version history, and project files are backed up every night, encrypted and kept for 30 days.
Checkout is hosted by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 provider, so your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.
Not yet. We build on infrastructure from providers certified to SOC 2 and ISO 27001, including Supabase, Hetzner and Stripe. How we keep Swarmz secure.

Account & team
Signing in, your team and your account.
Yes. Invite people to your workspace as an Admin, Editor or Viewer — roles are enforced in the database, not just the interface. Everyone shares the workspace's credits, with no per-seat fees.
Sign in with email, Google, Apple or GitHub. Turn on two-step verification with an authenticator app and recovery codes — once it's on, it's checked on every sign-in. You'll get an email when your account signs in on a new device.
Yes. SAML single sign-on is available on Business and above — with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Auth0 or any SAML 2.0 provider. Verify your domain, map groups to roles and, if you like, require SSO for everyone.
Yes. Settings shows every active session with its device and approximate location, and you can sign out of all the others in one go.
From Settings → Billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period, then your workspace moves to Free. Your projects stay in your workspace.
From Settings. Deletion is immediate: your projects, files, chat history and profile are removed. Copies in our encrypted backups age out within 30 days.
